How is running a bee farm inside an industrial site possible in Hong Kong? A plumber or even a monk is considered to be a creative profession? How does creativity play a role in their careers?


VArt Community of kaitak, Research and Development Centre, Academy of Visual Arts, aims at initiating interactions between creative parties and the general public, will be coordinating the “Urban Guru” Talk Series starting April this year. Not only artists or designers are determined to be innovative, every one of us can be adventurous and well-invented. Through the sharing of various urban creators on their ongoing projects, we are hoping to engage with the general public from different areas, to ignite their imaginations towards the possibilities of community life.

If you pay enough attention, you will find the advertisement of the renowned local Plumbing Master in hand written graffiti style in every corner of the city.


As the advertisement comes in different size and shape in enormous quantity, it has become one important visual element that forms the urban cityscape. Without having this as the intention, how will the Plumbing Master respond to this phenomenon? Also, how does he apply his creative thoughts to his plumbing career?
