The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) Awards is an annual business plan competition, funded by Mr Brandon Liu, JP and organised by the Young Artist Agency, kaitak – Centre for Research and Development that encourages Visual Arts graduates take up the initiate step of turning their innovative ideas into an executable business plan.
The YCE awards up to 4 Annual Prizes of HK$5,000 each, and one Grand Prize which consists of a HK$50,000 grant through the usiness plan competition.
Annual Kick-off Prize – HK$5,000
The winners will receive a cash prize of HK$5,000 to support a test run of a concept or produce a prototype, which could be a book, a mobile app, or a sample product, etc. for demonstration.
Business Start-up Grand Prize – HK$50,000
The prize is a grant of up to HK$50,000 to help implement original, innovative and well thought-out project-oriented business plans.
The grant amount to be given out will be subject to the availability of funding and quality of applications received.
The Competition is open to individual and group applications. Individual applicants or the principal applicant of group applications must be:
– Final year students from BA (Hons) in Visual Arts or Master in Visual Arts; or
– students from Research Postgraduate (MPhil/PhD) programmes; or
– AVA alumni within two years of graduation.
The deadline of proposal submission is at 17:00 on 31 March 2014. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, CV(s) and a business proposal in PDF format to the YCE website.
