Shared Campus Summer Schools 2019

To encourage cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary exchange and to promote international collaboration and exposure among students and staff, AVA collaborates with 7 international art universities from Europe and Asia in organising the Shared Campus Summer School, a programme of 4 international summer courses offered by four different partners.

In this first year, BA, MA, MPhil students and PhD candidates from AVA are eligible to apply for any one of the four Shared Campus programmes to be offered in this summer:

1. WèiLai: Yau Ma Tei
17 June–5 July 2019, Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong

2. The Fabrication of Relics
17–30 June 2019, School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong

3. Hacking Global Pop Icons
5–23 August 2019, Zurich University of the Arts, Zurich

4. Improvise!
25–29 August 2019, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore

Each of the Summer School programmes offers 25 places to students of art, design or music disciplines from both the home institute and partner institutes. Hence, regardless of travelling aboard or staying in Hong Kong, students participating in the Summer School will receive an equivalent opportunity to collaborate and exchange with students from different cultures and disciplines.

Application and Credit Transfer

Students interested in any of the programmes are invited to submit a short statement (max. 1 page) and a portfolio to the contact person of the relevant institute by 1 April 2019. For AVA students participating in any of the summer programmes will be considered for credit transfer, however, details may only be provided at a later stage.

Participating students are responsible for the daily expenses, travel expenses, and visa fees* (if applicable). Accommodation in overseas will be provided by the partner institution.

*BA Students attending Summer School programme in Zurich or Singapore may apply for financial aid through the Reach Out Award.
